We’ve recently added new Nicola Gillis ceramics to the Provision shop – a collection of handmade stoneware tableware that brings together Nicola’s distinctive approach to form, texture and surface.

Provision founder Nick Newman talks about timber, texture, natural materials, independent makers and the thinking behind the Provision Store in Bermondsey, London.

Gathering began as a study of materials – a search for fabrics that carry memory. Working between London, Japan and India, the practice is rooted in close collaboration with artisans, developing handwoven and hand-felted textiles using ancient techniques passed down through generations.
